Ph.D. Candidate

Shomik Jain is a Ph.D. student at the MIT Institute for Data, Systems, and Society (IDSS). His research interests are in algorithmic networks and systems of decision-making, especially around fairness and privacy. Previously, he was a Trustee Scholar at the University of Southern California where he earned a bachelor’s in Applied Math and master’s in Electrical Engineering. Before joining MIT, he also worked in the U.S. Intelligence Community as a forward deployed engineer for Palantir Technologies.
