Cosimo Accoto

Connection Science Fellow

Cosimo Accoto is a Connection Science Fellow at MIT.  A philosopher by training, his techno-cultural research interests are focused on: software theory, sensor society, data science, artificial intelligence, platform design and blockchain technology. Cosimo has published several business and culture books: “Il mondo ex machina. Cinque brevi lezioni di filosofia dell’automazione” (Egea 2019); “Il mondo dato. Cinque brevi lezioni di filosofia digitale” (Egea 2017, english edition: “In Data Time and Tide”, Bocconi University Press 2018); “Social mobile marketing” (co-authored with prof. Andreina Mandelli, Egea 2014). Board advisor and keynote speaker, he has also published business articles on Economia & Management (SDA Bocconi School of Management), Harvard Business Review Italy, Sole24Ore-Nova24. His managerial and professional career has matured in data and analytics industry as well as in strategic management consultancy. He served as Partner & VP Innovation at OpenKnowledge (BIP Group) helping organizations and enterprises to envision and deploy digital business and culture transformation projects. Previously, he worked as Commercial Director at Memis, as Head of Business Development at Jupiter Media Metrix (now Comscore) and as Sales & Service Manager at AGB Italy (now Nielsen).
